Zecco CEO, Jeroen Veth, Steps Down

Beginning next year, Zecco will have a new CEO, as Jeroen Veth (current CEO), is stepping down and being replaced by current CIO, Michael Raneri.

Veth founded Zecco back in 2006 and pretty much changed the discount stock brokerage game all together by offering 100% free, commission-less stock trading. While its not 100% commission-less trading anymore, fees are still cheap and there are certain requirements that allow you to gain some amount of free trades per month.

That being said, over time Zecco has considerably built up their quality and services. Most recently adding Zecco Forex along with practice Forex accounts; however, it looks like Zecco is planning to grow even more.

The new CEO, Michael Raneri, is given the task to take Zecco to the next stage of growth and development. which SHOULD mean some exciting new features and perhaps more options coming down the road.

Here is an excerpt from the email sent out by Veth:

I’m especially excited about this change because Michael plans to put a major emphasis on revolutionizing our trading experience and continuing to improve our customer service. That means that you’ll see a series of major platform enhancements throughout 2010, starting with much more robust research tools and culminating with an all-new trading platform. It also means shorter wait times, better self-help tools, and best in class service representatives. In coming months, Michael will tell you more about these big changes.

While Zecco does boasts over 170,000 trading accounts, there are still some major flaws for which they seem to be addressing by this CEO change… more specifically their trading tools and platforms.

Although this change won’t take place until January 1, 2010, this leaves a lot to be desired. Imagine the possiblities of cheap/free commissions along with solid tools platforms do go along with them…
