The other day I was just strolling along through YouTube, and I noticed that many companies, websites, or some type of money making group are beginning to market their business through video channels. It is pretty obvious that there are now many ways to advertise your business. I remember when the best way to learn about something was to look it up at the library. Do those even exist anymore? Now I can just search for something on YouTube and figure out how to do almost anything

Everyday people randomly peruse through the popular video site. Usually if someone likes a video they will check out the user’s profile, and low and behold they can click on a link to your website to learn more about your business. Besides just creating buzz about your business, YouTube now even offers advertisement opportunities through your videos, so you can also bring in revenue to your business with videos.
Here are some example topics for different subjects:
- Fitness Company – show videos of different exercises
- Finance – scree video capture of analyzing stock charts or report daily news in the market
- Real Estate – follow yourself around the site or show how to do simple repairs or tips to improve the value
I look at YouTube as a video edition of Digg or any other content sharing site, but what is better about YouTube is that it is always better to watch something then read it. The videos also create more of a personal connection with the creator. Through text you really can’t tell anything about the person, but with a video you can hear their voice and/or actually see the person, so it creates more sense of a community.
Most importantly videos can also help improve your credibility. It is easy for many people to hide behind their writing, but, when you actually put yourself out there, people are more likely to listen to what you have to say.
I have been thinking about adding videos, but I am still thinking about good video topics. They will be here in the future, so don’t touch that dial.
