Yet Another New Richest Person
It seems like the position of the world’s richest person is changing hands much more often then years prior. In a year where we already saw the Mexican businessman Carlos Slim overtake the Microsoft giant Bill Gates, we now have a new leader and yes it is me… Well obviously I am kidding.

The new richest as of today at least (according to CNBC) is Mukesh Ambani. Valued at $63.2 billion, Ambani has about a billion dollar lead over the next closest. Here is the rundown of the top 5 I found from cnbc.com:
- Mukesh Ambani - $63.2 billion
- Carlos Slim Helu - $62.2993 billion
- William (Bill) Gates - $62.29 billion
- Warren Buffett - $55.9 billion
- Lakshmi Mittal - $50.9 billion
Ambani is the chairman and largest shareholder of India’s Reliance Industries. His great move up the charts was in part to a strong rally in Reliance shares. Ambani owns almost half of Reliance’s outstanding stock. It is also reported that he just completed a $1 billion house. I can only imagine what all that house must have.
It personally doesn’t surprise me that somebody from India is so high up on the charts. With all the new development and great investment opportunities India has experienced, it was only a matter of time before somebody started to reap the benefits.
Who will be the next top dog? I don’t know, but I am hoping it is me.
