What to do now?
My oh my, how quickly this “market phase” went buy (I meant to misspell). I have nearly cleaned every last inch of my current watch list (i.e. AKS, NUE, CAT, HAL, SUN, VLO, blah blah blah… you can check the archives). I have experienced my downs and mostly ups; however, it looks like it might be time create a new list.
For much of my trading “career,” my specialty has been riding the hot sectors (I call this a “market phase”). It helped with massive gains in the last half of 2007 and over the last couple of months. The problem with this method is when the “phase” dies out, I can experience some loss or nothing at all, until I find the next “phase.”
With the recent Fed announcements, it looks like that might have signaled the end of the current one, so over the next couple of days, weeks, or whatever I will be on the hunt for something new. Be on the look out.
