While the Dow did drop 1,000 points last Thursday, by closing time the market had managed to be down just a respectable 347 points.
This sparked my interest and I wanted to see what was the biggest drop the Dow had experienced from open to close.
Below is a chart of the top 5 biggest drops the Dow has experienced. Surprisingly, or not, 4 of the 5 happened during the 2008 crash. Just goes to show you how much that market really did tank at the time.
Lets see if we can break into the top 5 over the next couple of trading weeks…
