QATW – Questions and Answers of the Week
Since I have launched a lot of new projects geared at stock trading education, I am obviously receiving more questions every day. Because these are usually good questions that many people have, I thought I would try and start this new segment called Questions and Answers of the Week.
Every Friday (roughly) I will be taking some of the best or most asked questions and answer them here. Questions can range from anything having to do with stocks and stock trading (i.e. stock analysis, stock help, etc.).
To get your question in now, use the dedicated contact page. You will not have to wait for the next edition to receive your answers, but the best or most popular will be brought here for others to see.
Q: Would you please tell me where I can find a stock broker who gives a demo trading account?
A: thinkorswim and TradeMonster
Q: How much money should I start out with?
A: Because you can buy shares for stocks ranging in price from $.03 tp $100,000, there really is no limit or minimum to how much you can start out with. To actually have some room and ability to trade multiple holdings, I would say somewhere between $500 – $1000; however, a more personal answer should be as much as you are willing to lose.
Q: Is now a good time to enter the market?
A: Yes, it actually may be one of the best times ever. If you are looking for long-term plays, then stocks are at some of the lowest prices ever. If you are looking for more active plays, volatility is so high that you can catch swings every which way. If you wait for somebody to tell you it is safe, then odds are good that you will probably miss most of the profit.

Does the term 'online trading' indicate that buy and/or sell stock orders are immediately executed in real time when placed with a broker?
Pretty much. Online trading essentially means you can execute trades online. This is apposed to when somebody might call over the phone and ask their brokerage to do the trade or go to a branch.
