Dow industrial tops 14,000

  • US stocks open higher despite weak news from UBS and Citi. Last time Dow was above 14,000 was July 19. That was right before the sudden drop.

McDonald’s plans to change all of its U.S. restaurants by 2009 to feature specialty drinks.

  • Another attempt to beef up competition between Starbucks and McDonald’s. This can also be seen as a bright spot for investors, after last weeks downgrade. At last check McDonald’s (MCD) was up .69 at 55.16

Jets season ticket holder sues the Patriots for $184 million.

  • After the Patriots spying debacle, the ticket holder feels that the Patriots were”deceiving customer.” The law suit includes that every Jet season ticket holder should be compensated for every game played in Giants stadium since New England’s coach, Bill Belichick, became head coach in 2000.
