Apple Takes First Step Into Business World
While the traditional PC and Windows will dominate the business world for years to come, Apple’s (APPL) latest additions to their new operating system, Snow Leopard, aims to try and enter the world Microsoft (MSFT) seems to have a monopoly on.
With Snow Leopard, now Apple users will have the ability to sync with their company’s Microsoft exchange and connect to their “corporate environment.” While these additions are great, there is still a long way to go for Apple to even consider taking a big chunk of the business world from Microsoft.

The cost of large companies to simply try and move over to Apple is far more than any of them would even want to consider. Macs are typically more popular with a younger crowd, and the thought of having more elderly employees try to shift would not only be time consuming, but highly inefficient.
So while Apple seems to be knocking out every competition in every market they enter, there are still enormous obstacles standing in the way of Apple ever really entering the average work place.
That being said, did Apple spend too much time and effort into Snow Leopard trying to persuade corporate America? We have already seen what happened with Microsoft and their unflattering release of Windows Vista. While these early baby steps seem optimistic for the long-term future of Apple, short-term could they be paying a hefty penalty in terms of their stock?
